Invented Memories

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Anton Art Center

Let your mind wander through the visual narratives of 14 artists in the Anton Art Center’s upcoming exhibition, Invented Memories, opening July 10.  Whether dealing with fantasy or reality, the works included in the exhibition evoke a strong sense of nostalgia.

An opening reception will be held Friday, July 10, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM, featuring an outdoor aerial yoga performance by the Detroit Fly House.  The reception is free and open to the public.  Invented Memories will be on exhibit July 10 through August 15.

The Anton Art Center is  located at 125 Macomb Place in Downtown Mount Clemens.

Open Draw

12:30 PM - Anton Art Center

Grab your sketchbook!  The Mount Clemens Art Association, in cooperation with the Anton Art Center, presents their monthly Open Drawing session.  Open Draw sessions give artists the opportunity to focus on figure drawing from a live clothed model.  Models are different at each session, and will be costumed for a variety of sketching opportunities. 

Open Draw is open to the public and runs from 12:30 PM until 3:30 PM.  No instruction is provided.  Space is limited and filled on a first-come, first served basis.  Admission for the session is $5 for students with a valid ID, $7 for members of the Mount Clemens Art Association or Anton Art Center, and $9 for the general public.  All proceeds benefit the Anton Art Center and The Mount Clemens Art Association.  Attendees under the age of 18 must be signed in by a parent or guardian.

His show has been getting rave reviews all over the metro area. performing in private shows, nightclubs and even in the Michigan State Fair. This show is definitely qualified for Las Vegas.

Thomas Plunkard takes the stage at 11:00 AM for a show filled with amazing magic, and lots of laughs and fun for all.  Children will receive special collectible stickers during the show, which guarantee access to all Summer Fun Saturday specials at participating establishments between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Boat Town USA Festival of Lights Parade

 9:00 PM - On the Clinton River

Boat Town USA presents the annual Festival of Lights Boat Parade.  The parade of decorated boats starts at 9:00 PM at Lake St. Clair and continues up the Clinton River, ending at approximately 11:00 PM at MacArthur Park in Mount Clemens.  Boat Town USA will also host a Beer Tent in MacArthur Park from 7:00 PM until 1:00 AM.

MacArthur Park is located on North River Road between I-94 and Northbound Gratiot.
