10:00 AM - Main Street, Downtown Mount Clemens

The Macomb County Santa Parade is presented by the City of Mount Clemens.  This year's event will kick off at 10:00 AM on Main Street in historic downtown Mount Clemens at Church Street, and will proceed north to Market Street.  Continuing tradition, the parade will be on the day after Thanksgiving to usher in the holiday season and to celebrate the arrival of the jolly old elf himself, Santa!  At this year's parade, Santa will reveal his eagerly awaited new sleigh, and there will be plenty of new floats, marching bands, sights and sounds.

Glen Haege, known as America's Master Handyman, will be this year's Grand Marshall.  Mar. Haege is most well-known for his syndicated radio program on WJR 760.  For young attendees, there will be a special appearance by the famous children's character Bob the Builder.

The Parade Steering Committee is hosting a coloring contest for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Colored pictures will be displayed at the Anton Art Center in Mount Clemens.  A random drawing from each grade level will be held to select the winners.  The winners will have the opportunity to take part in the parade, along with having their picture taken with Santa and the Parade Grand Marshall.  Click here to download the contest picture and form, or pick up a copy at Mount Clemens City Hall at 1 Crocker Boulevard; or at the Mount Clemens Public Library at 150 Cass Avenue.  Contest entry deadline is November 11.
